Acer Aspire V7-582P-6673 ($849) just meets Intel's updated ultrabook specs, but while it is functionally an ultrabook it is spiritually a desktop replacement laptop. Its large size and screen make it a part-time portable system at best.While you can bring it from place to place, it is a little big for outdoor use and probably won't fit on a foldout college or high school classroom desk. Where it excels is as the central base station for your family member's digital life, to be used in their bedroom or in the living room in a semi-permanent setup. It's a combination of the traditional laptop, with today's technology.
